Flower Fundraisers Abloom for Mothers Day

If the mothers in your life want flowers, fear not: There's plenty of local organizations that want you to buy from them and support a fundraiser.

Annual flower sales at many local churches and firehouses will begin Friday, but organizers said reservations are possible to simplify picking up a gift for mom. Call the numbers below for more info.

Here's a rundown of some places around Toms River hosting Mothers Day Flower Sales:

• Toms River Fire Company #2 is having a Mother's Day flower sale to raise money for the station on May 11 from 3 to 7 p.m., May 12 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and May 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The sale will be at the sub-station located at 1053 Hooper Ave, Toms River.

• Silverton Fire Company is having a Mothers Day Flower Sale at its fire house, Silverton Fire Co #1 15 Kettle Creek Rd (next to Charlie Browns Restaurant).  Sale supports the fire house and will be held Friday May 11 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday May 12 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sun May 13, 8 a.m. until sold out. 732-255-1122.

• Beachwood First Aid Squad is having a Mother Day Flower Sale at its squad house, 4 Beachwood Blvd, Beachwood. On May 11, 12 and 13, volunteers will be selling flowers from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Potted plants and hanging baskets will be available. 732-281-8470.

• South Toms River First Aid Squad is having a Mothers Day Flower Sale at its squad house, 401 Dover Road, South Toms River, NJ 08757. The event is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 11, 12, and 13. All Proceeds will go to the First Aid Squad. 732-341-3339.
