Oceans of Love Billboard Radiothon Continues Through Oct. 28

Parking lot of Lowes/Target on Hooper is ground zero for fundraiser

The giant hawk, towering billboard and fun activities in the parking lot of Target and Lowe's on Hooper Avenue spell one thing: the multi-day radiothon to benefit Oceans of Love.

Radio station 105.7 FM The Hawk has staged the current radiothon atop a makeshift billboard tower, in hopes of raising a total $105,700 for the charity.

Oceans of Love, based in Toms River, aids local familes affected by childhood cancer. The charity helps assist the family's expenses — such as transportation to and from doctors and clinics, parking, phone bills, food, counseling, clothes, car repairs, insurance and utilities — to be a support system in their time of need amid a cancer diagnosis.

Hawk DJ Andy Chase has been atop the parking lot billboard since Oct. 24, and is scheduled to be there through Oct. 28. Down below, participants can offer donations or take part in some of the fun activities scheduled: face painting, inflatable slides, desserts and video games were just some of the offerings planned.
