Support Local IOCC Charity Riders July 31 at Saint Barbara Church

International Orthodox Christian Charities' (IOCC) Race to Respond Team stopping in Toms River this Tuesday

The Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Community will be welcoming the International Orthodox Christian Charities' (IOCC) Race to Respond Team which is coming to Toms River on Tuesday, July 31. Jim Angelus, Konstantin Kanelis and Brett McKey mark the end of their 3,000 mile bike ride across the U.S. in honor of IOCC's 20 years of global humanitarian service and to raise funds for the organization's relief fund.

The riders started their journey in Edmund, Washington and have been on the road traveling across the country for the last 30 days. Along the way the cyclists have stopped at church parishes where they were shown appreciation for their commitment to support IOCC’s humanitarian aid efforts.

Residents may stop by and give support to the riders as they make their last planned stop at Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Toms River (2200 Church Road) with a reception at 10 a.m. Immediately following the reception
the riders will complete their last 10 miles, finishing their journey at the entrance of Island Beach State Park. Jim invites all seasoned cyclists to join them on the last ten mile leg of the journey as a show of support for the riders and their cause.

For more information how to become involved in celebrating their last day of riding, please contact IOCC’s Outreach Coordinator, Laura Hendershot at
lhendershot@iocc.org.
