Deadline to register for program is Friday, June 21

The following was submitted by Ocean County Library spokesman Lawrence Meegan:

The Ocean County Library will once again offer summer volunteer programs and is looking for teen volunteers to help out with its Reading Buddies program.

In the Reading Buddies program, a teen volunteer who has finished sixth grade is paired with a younger student in grades one through four. The pair works together to improve the child’s reading skills. Teen volunteers get the additional experience of helping young children and also accumulate volunteer hours.
