Cattus Island County Park
Cattus Island County Park is a beautiful, passive park, spanning more than 500 acres. The park has miles of trails including a wheelchair accessible, boardwalked loop. Several of the trails have superb views of Barnegat Bay, Silver Bay and Applegate's Cove. It is also home to the Cooper Environmental Center which houses a variety of live native reptiles and fish as well as interactive, hands-on displays. The Cooper Center hosts numerous programs including its two-minute nature walk each weekend. Cattus Island Park has picnic areas with charcoal grills, trails, observation blinds, a kayak launch, osprey nest platforms, a beach, maritime forest and an Atlantic White Cedar forest. The park offers boat tours, kayak tours and other programs throughout the summer. Call for more information.
