John, How do you know what I am aware of and what I am not. Have we ever met before and you wereRead More given an opportunity to form an opinion then, are you prejudice and judgemental. Or are you a typical liberal who thinks he knows more than those who oppose him. That without god miracling your behind to our land we would all be lost without you. Typical response from a liberal who has no facts to reply with..Turn of Fox news...because we all know MSNBC is accurate, right John, they are not slanted in your direction.
John Santaella April 20, 2014 at 05:17 pm
You have the killer instinct. You go right for the jugular; the "L" word. What a joke.Read More You've nothing intelligent to say so you use the "L" word. Pathetic. I don't have to have met you, you give yourself away with your writing.
WMS826 April 20, 2014 at 08:42 pm
Typical LIBERAL. Now you call it the "L" word. Are we not supposed to call you peopleRead More liberals anymore, does that have such a bad connotation that you now will wipe away that word through some crap political correctness campaign. Your family name has some history in Bergen County, just a simple Bing search of your name with NJ after it tells me all I need to know about you.

Obamacare , gas taxes, payroll taxes, tolls, the proposed soda and candy tax , your tobacco tax is 75% of what the product really costs! Commercial Property tax increases! Do you people see what's going on here? This country is being destroyed by the Democrats! It is starting to resemble The a Soviet Union! We should change the name of this country to the USSA!

There were a lot of challenges last summer no doubt. But it was still summer and it was good!!Read More This summer will be even better and next summer should be awesome!! Long live the shore and bring on the warm weather!! This benny is ready to open up my home and settle in for a beautiful summer!!
Frank March 21, 2014 at 06:44 pm
Christies 'Stronger Than The Storm" campaign launched too late. However, the main goal of thatRead More campaign was to advertise "him" not the "shore".
WMS826 March 27, 2014 at 07:31 pm
So then the is not a need to spend another dime on "the shore". All is as good as it wasRead More before the storm.

Just wondering if these tree companies are now hiring..
Artist/Engineer March 12, 2014 at 01:49 pm
I'm not impressed. JCP&L has neglected tree trimming in my area of Manchester Township and whenRead More confronted about it gave bogus answers from their PR reps who are there to obscure the problem, not solve it. We were without power for 2 weeks after Sandy and it was almost entirely due to JCP&L's very poor management and lack of pruning of the overgrown trees next to feeder power lines in the area.
Pat S. March 12, 2014 at 01:54 pm
If JCP&L had done regular maintenance as they should have, this wouldn't have become the issueRead More it now is. Wonder how much of the cost they'll try to pass on to their customers.

@ Michael Kinzig- if marijuana was legal adults would be able to purchase it in oil form, or use aRead More vaporize which removes the harmful smoking practice which makes marjuana even less harmful than alcohol and cigarettes. "sir"- Ask any hard core druggie if they started with weed. Case closed stoners. Bam!... actually sir the most common answer would be alcohol was the first drug they used, however that drug is legal. here's the problem when debating whether marijuana should be legal. the anti marijuana people start bringing up stuff that is completely irrelevant. such as marijuana being harmful, children, and driving. no pro marijuana people say it is not harmful for you, everyone can agree that done often smoking marijuana is harmful to your health and not usually productive. however the same can be said about alcohol, cigs, and fast food. the second thing is bringing up kids. no pro marijuana people are saying kids should be able to obtain it, it would be the same laws and restrictions as alcohol. you educate kids about the harm of alcohol, cigs, marijuana, and hope they make the right decisions if it is ever offered to them. the same goes for driving, the same laws as drinking and driving will be applied to marijuana. the one thing no one can answer is, if alcohol and cigarettes can be legally enjoyed by adults why cant marijuana? they are all harmful products that can potentially lead to other drugs. why as americans are we free to harm our body with one substance but not another ?

Sort of. Corzine completed his term and lost to Christie when he tried to get reelected. McGreeveyRead More resigned suddenly because he was faced with a sexual harassment law suit. Corzine's use of long term bonds which pushed principal payments out 20 years with huge interest payments every year caused nj to have a huge deficit, all the while he was apparently in a relationship with a union leader with whom he was negotiating. Christie had foolish staffers do something idiotic, but the result was traffic jams for four days for people in Ft Lee. No personal gain, no money flowing in any pockets, just stupid stuff. Do we really want to throw out every elected official who has underlings do something wrong or foolish? Still no evidence he did it. Pretty tough standard to uphold.

The Scriptures show how true followers of Christ are supposed to conduct themselves and as leadersRead More of the Congregation, they will be judged just as the Scribes and Pharisees were in Jesus day who mislead many.....Again, the point I was making is we should all look into God's Word for the truth and accept it's teaching..not just take the preacher's word at face value without confirming what the Bible says. Ephesians 5:10,11 states "Keep on making sure of what is acceptable to the Lord and stop sharing in the unfruitful works that belong to the darkness, rather, expose them for what they are"....

ATLANTA (AP) — The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Atlanta apologized Monday for building a $2.2Read More million mansion for himself, a decision criticized by local Catholics who cited the example of austerity set by the new pope. Archbishop Wilton Gregory recently moved into a nearly 6,400-square-foot (595-square-meter) residence. Its construction was made possible by a large donation from the estate of Joseph Mitchell, nephew of Margaret Mitchell, author of "Gone With The Wind," the Civil War epic that made his family wealthy. When Mitchell died in 2011, he left an estate worth more than $15 million to the archdiocese on the condition it be used for "general religious and charitable purposes." Gregory said that he has received criticism over the spending in letters, emails and telephone messages. "I am disappointed that, while my advisors (sic) and I were able to justify this project fiscally, logistically and practically, I personally failed to project the cost in terms of my own integrity and pastoral credibility with the people of God of north and central Georgia," Gregory said in a column posted on the website of the archdiocesan newspaper, The Georgia Bulletin. "I failed to consider the impact on the families throughout the Archdiocese who, though struggling to pay their mortgages, utilities, tuition and other bills, faithfully respond year after year to my pleas to assist with funding our ministries and services," he added. The Catholic leader said he will discuss the situation with several diocesan councils, including a special meeting of its finance council. If church representatives want the bishop to sell the home, Gregory said he will do so and move elsewhere. The purchase of the sprawling home was part of a real estate deal made possible by money from Joseph Mitchell's estate. In his will, Mitchell requested that primary consideration be given to the Cathedral of Christ The King, where he worshipped. The cathedral received $7.5 million for its capital fund and spent roughly $1.9 million to buy the archbishop's old home, according to tax records. Cathedral officials are planning to spend an additional $292,000 to expand Gregory's old home so its priests can live there, freeing up space on the cathedral's cramped campus. After selling his home, Gregory needed a new residence. The archbishop said that he made a mistake while designing a home with large meeting spaces and rooms for receptions and gatherings. "What we didn't stop to consider, and that oversight rests with me and me alone, was that the world and the Church have changed," Gregory said. He demolished the one-story home on Mitchell's property, which was donated to the church, and replaced it with a Tudor-style mansion. In January, a group of local Catholics met with the archbishop and asked that he sell the large home and return to his old residence. They cited the example of Pope Francis, who turned down living quarters in a Vatican palace and drives a simple car. "The example of the Holy Father, and the way people of every sector of our society have responded to his message of gentle joy and compassion without pretense, has set the bar for every Catholic and even for many who don't share our communion," Gregory said. ___ Gregory's column in The Georgia Bulletin: http://www.georgiabulletin.org/commentary/2014/03/the-archbishop-responds/

suz I'm sure you enjoy your job of wiping Christie's butt & cleaning up his messes but even atRead More six figures you are severly underpaid. You must stick with it because you are so infatuated with the useless ignorant blob. The only positive thing I can say about Christie is that I think it possible that Kimmy Guadagno could possibly be worse after Christie is arrested and has to resign. She is a real stupid piece of work.

Now that he did this...I am gonna just give him a pass on his past few blunders.....this is anRead More amazing decision. He has to be the best Gov. that NJ has ever had and probably the entire Nation. This kind of forward thinking is what this nation lacks. ( LOL....Ok I cant continue this...I will throw up LOL). This guy is turning out to be just another Hack self serving politician who is more concerned with cover ups and lies, which are similar to the onces going on in the White House. One thing though Christie has proven that he will be able to perform a few scandals (like a magician) if elected to the White House which seems to be the rule of thumb today.

During the tragic Hurricane Sandy crisis, if you had the opportunity to speak to any of the out ofRead More state utility workers here to help us, you would be shocked. So many stories and conversations about how our electrical grid and equipment here in Ocean county is so out of date, parts no longer available, poorly maintained and NEGLECTED by JCP&L. And they want an increase?? Disgraceful. They take OUR money and let the electrical grid fall apart. Substations and transformer sitting like time bombs. No maintenance or upgrades. They don't deserve 1 red cent from any of their rate payers. They should be dis-enfranchised and let another electric company take over this area.
