This area is becoming more like the city every day... When I lived in Philly there were both men andRead More women who would walk into my shop daily trying to peddle the items they had lifted. They'd walk in with packages of Advil, Motrin, Tylenol (name brand, not store brand) DVD's (not knock off's), shaving cream, razor blades, jewelry, watches, clothing, --- you name it, they had it - AND if you didn't buy anything from them they were brazen enough to ask what you needed or what you were looking for !!! One of the girls jokingly mentioned a bottle of expensive perfume....the next day the thief was there with exactly that perfume. It got so bad that I installed camera's and posted a sign saying that they were being filmed and that the tape would be given to police...that curtailed the problem a bit, but not totally. Now we have people here stealing "red bull" and you can bet they are doing the same thing. The city is getting closer every single day !!!!

From the Star Ledger: The Hurricane Sandy charity chaired by New Jersey First Lady Mary PatRead More Christie announced today it plans to hand out another $5 million in grants for disaster relief. The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund has so far distributed roughly two-thirds of the $40 million it has raised since the storm ravaged the state’s coastline and other waterfront communities. That’s nearly $26 million in grants, half of which has gone toward housing programs, according to the group. The advisory board also includes honorary members Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and Bono. The grant committee decides where the money is distributed. Mrs. Christie is no a member of that committee.
Realitysux April 17, 2014 at 09:06 am
they allegedly spent 40k,unlike pat who pays herself 450k annually and was applauded at such a smallRead More rate. kane in your corner on channel 12 news did two exposes trying to find out where the money went, but got very vague answers. plus Christie claims it is a long term charity, which means the longer they have the money the more pat gets paid. some of the charities they gave to where American red cross, education?, habitat for humanity, 18 month after sandy, meanwhile this couple had handed out over one half of money received in the first six months, more than a million bucks. I am sure people who donated to pats charity had no idea it was to be given to other charities, who charge a higher rate of administration fees, so the money is getting admin fees charged twice, and given out in dribs and drabs. otherwise they would have donated directly to these other so called charities
STSV2010 April 17, 2014 at 01:30 pm
I know that this information will never register to Realitysux, but, for the rest of you: TheRead More state’s own investigation, begun a few months earlier, determined that the bogus charity had distributed just $1,650 in gift cards to actual victims and Paypal gave back between $250,000 and $275,000 to approximately 2,000 donors. Meanwhile, this summer, the Sparta couple who started the charity, John Sandberg and Christina Terraccino, were living in a gated community on Costa Rica’s Gold Coast. Mary Pat Christie's pay of $307,372 is for being a vice president at Cantor Fitzgerald, the Wall Street financial services firm. She receives no money for the relief fund. The largest grants the group has awarded, include: $5.2 million to a program that provides gap funding for homeowners who have qualified for a state-administered rebuilding grant, $1.6 million for housing assistance in Union Beach and $750,000 to support Habitat for Humanity International’s Sandy efforts.

@ Chris Christie... ya know what if it matters so much to you then why don't you do a littleRead More investigation on your own. The point of the story was a 22 year old lost his life. He had a family, he had friends, he had a future, now all that is left is a huge hole in so many hearts. The Patch, in my opinion should have never put this picture up, as I said my daughter was his friend and I can't not put into words the pain she felt seeing this picture, how it shook her to the core to see his car, his shoe on the seat, knowing that was here her friend died !? Maybe you should become a traffic cop so you can stop all the rest of the drivers out on the road, young, old, disabled, eating, putting on makeup, shaving or picking their damn nose while they drive, God knows our roads are full of them. Have a heart and realize this is about a young man who died and the grief so many are now left to deal with. Read the news to find out what’s going on, keep your insensitive opinions to yourself, because there is enough hurt already, they don’t need more.

Just to bring all that tourist traffic to Boston's front door? When they do build that ramp watchRead More all the business' along Rte 37 from the Parkway to Fischer Blvd close their doors. Don't think it will happen? Take a ride on Rtes 30 and 40 and see what the AC Expressway did to those poor folks!
Franklin Towers April 12, 2014 at 09:31 am
Go ahead and tell us that it will solve all the traffic problems in Brick and Toms River. TheRead More problems is not getting trying to get off the Parkway, the problem is the roads you're stuck with once you do get off. Brick Blvd to Hooper Ave heading south.....four lanes into two! The guy that engineered that ought to have his license revoked, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out cant stuff 10 pounds of crap into a 2 pound bag! I could go on and on but the ramps will happen, Bostons will be the pot of gold at the end of the GSP rainbow, and Fischer Blvd will be a nightmare at 6PM on the 4TH of July weekend.

@very nice: Wow. Resorting to name calling? Really? So childish. It's hard to have an intelligentRead More conversation with such an uneducated, close-minded, hateful individual. I, myself, do not use drugs, but I do have a soft spot for the weak, broken, and less fortunate. But I'm glad we have such a "very nice" and noble man as yourself on the neighborhood watch... protecting us. Let us retrogress to a time of intolerance and lynch those of whom are flawed! I don’t mean to sound cliché, but don’t be so quick to judge another before you’ve walked a mile in their shoes. Your beliefs suggest the regression of our species. But the fact remains… people can and do change.
very nice April 17, 2014 at 10:28 pm
@Dan. Thanks for responding .:) sorry for the delay on my behalf.... well here it goes..... I pledgeRead More to continue be the noble man I am. And continue to help my community fight the war on drugs. Thankyou for acknowledging my position as member of the "neighborhood watch" program. I do tend to keep my eyes open for anything suspicious. I would like to make one note that I couldn't imagine walking a mile in a doper's shoes. Sounds like a bad idea. And sounds dangerous. If your walking that path I recommend you get the proper treatment. Before its too late. Remember "once a doper always a doper" . Keep your soft spot, but be wise. "Very nice" night

sha April 11, 2014 at 06:38 pm
Thank you for not being condescending. If the bobcat is trained, safe & domesticated, I haveRead More no problem if she wants him as a pet. Since they are basically wild animals, there just might be a safety concern for children and small pets in the neighborhood.
