So agree @Mac I saw the picture when Todd Frazier was a little boy playing in Little League standingRead More next to a "Young, Future Hall of Famer", Derek Jeter, from "The New York Yankee's". Perhaps some day we will see Todd Frazier, enter "The Hall of Fame" ! So far, he is moving in that direction, I truly hope so!
suz July 16, 2014 at 02:34 pm

Todd, all of Toms River is very proud of you. Ignore the haters, they hate themselves.

Project Bluebeam I'm no Yankee fan, but I do appreciate an awesome baseball player, and Derek JeterRead More was. He also is the epitome of class and professionalism, the Yankee's and major league baseball will miss him.

You might want to remind these boats to watch the weather and maintain their boats too
Marynary July 4, 2014 at 09:59 am
The last fishing story on here had a bunch of anti fishing posts.

As you enjoy your little fishing venture, be sure to make way for the large and very noisy cigaretteRead More boats as they churn the waters up on their race to nowhere.

This is news? Even if it were, the game was yesterday and over by mid-afternoon. We lost yet thisRead More still appears in the main news column. Doesn't anybody monitor this site and try to keep it timely? One thing's for sure, if I want to know what the weather was last week I can probably find it in breaking news on Patch.

Can't wait to see this commercial. It will probably feature Eli Manning walking into a DunkinRead More Donuts, and the contest winner saying something like, "Hey, look! It's Eli Manning of the NY Giants! He likes Dunkin Donuts too."

Eli should be more concerned about becoming more accurate with his throwing arm. No moreRead More interceptions Eli, please!

Parents ruin sports..
sportsnut July 14, 2014 at 07:39 am
Alan I agree. Parents coach to get their kids and kids friends a leg up. Kids are choosen too basedRead More on parents and kids being friends. Take AAU and All-Stars and positions in each sport. Parents coach because they want their kid in prime positions, kids are friends with certain kids or because a family does not like someone but the kid has talent not playing. You need "out of area" coaches to come and determine if a kid is "that good" to be at the next level not "locals" whom coach because that is the only way the kid will get playing time.

Ken - Probably because the commercial guys can keep 14-inchers.
Chuck Cumella April 29, 2014 at 07:08 am
Daniel. Exactly my point. The recreational fishermen did not kill the fishery. The commercialRead More guys did.
Rock.n.Roll April 29, 2014 at 07:24 am
Yeah, getting tougher and tougher to go out any more. With the cost of gas, being able to hitRead More weather (water temps...water condition...winds....tides), finding "keeper" fish, when you can find time to go, gonna get like the "winter flounder" season...just not worth it. Way to go BIG Government, screw up just about everything! Along with the unfairness of commercial fleet to keep must smaller fish, dragging the ocean where us little guys fish!

Mel Sharples April 1, 2014 at 07:56 am
Oh, come now. Wait a few months. The Ravens - a corporation largely dependent on the survival andRead More acquittal of Ray Rice - will commission an "independent" investigation to find out what really happened. And the final report will show, shockingly, that Ray did nothing wrong. That he was somehow the victim or that there were circumstances beyond his control. And if that sham worked for Christie, why won't it work for Ray?
EaglesFan856 April 6, 2014 at 12:16 pm
Its crazy Eagles get such a bag rep for cutting Jackson but not one cares about the Ravens keepingRead More this guy!

Actually, it was the fault of the NFL that resulted in the long wait at the train station. ThereRead More were ridiculous rules and restrictions on parking.

paul smith February 5, 2014 at 05:22 pm
While the NFl has some culpability, and most of the rail tickets were bought on gameday, NJT blewRead More it. No buses until an hour after the game? Ridiculous. You have Lombardi and No Bergen park and rides where buses could have been stacked as a contingency. There was no contingency. Didnt NJT imagine some folks may leave early?
S_O_G February 2, 2014 at 06:11 pm
It is fine. My only complaint is that they took my double decker trains for the super bowl and IRead More had to be crowded all week in the regular cars. I think NJT runs great most of the time, and not sure where people think they can get a better deal then less than $10/day round trip ($250, probably 125 on pre tax dollars, and 22 work days in a month). Take a car service if you do not like it

Don't know where S_O_G pays his fare, but 1) the roundtrip fare to Manhattan from Summit is $19.50Read More per day; 2) the monthly cost is $273; and 3) Congress effective Jan. 1 lowered the monthly commuter tax benefit to $130 from $245 (while raising the parking benefit to $250 per month from $245).

Nice to hear this "private" arena is being used...not that I'm a roller derby fan...butRead More does anyone have any idea how to find a list of the events that are scheduled, as infrequent as they may be, and how to go about getting tickets for the events?? Seems like this is a tightly held secret!?!
Linda Maloney November 29, 2013 at 03:29 pm
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you on this. Coming from Cleveland Heights, Ohio my family esp.Read More my father's side were all Cleveland Browns or Indians fans. We moved to NJ in the 60's and my father still remained a Cleveland fan, but his children didn't. We all took a liking to the NY Giants and NY Mets (because if we became a Yankee fan we would have most certainly been disowned). So he would at times give in to us and take us to Shea Stadium in Queens, NY to watch our newly adopted team. Some of my fondest memories of growing up are attending Mets games with my family and that includes the journey in getting there(traffic, long miles, brother and sisters arguing, etc,) it was just so much fun! My father slowly but surely grew into loving his NY teams tough a soft spot always remained for the Browns and Indians. As for me I also can spew out the line-ups for the 69 and 86 Mets. I had fun reading this and Thank You for reminding me of some great memories I had!
