Toms River women charged with assault, criminal trespass and making threats on school bus
A mother and grandmother have been charged with multiple offenses after a recent fracas occurring on a Toms River Regional School District bus, according to information from Chief Michael Mastronardy of the Toms River Township Police Department. “Officer Pam Slaven, who is responsible for the intermediate and elementary schools in the township, investigated a simple assault incident that occurred Friday morning on a Toms River school bus,” said the chief. Police searching for two suspects in Sunday afternoon incident that left occupants injured
Toms River Police are looking for two men who, after ringing a Villages of Bey Lea apartment's doorbell, assaulted the occupants who answered the door and allegedly stole their cash, jewelry and pills. Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said the Sunday robbery began with a ring of the doorbell. The suspects — two men — came to the Villages of Bey Lea, off Old Freehold Road, around 3:30 p.m. "Once the victim answered it they forced their way into the apartment and indicated that they had weapons," Mastronardy said. "No weapons were used or shown but they did indicate they had weapons." Suspect accused of beating a Point Borough man unconscious in Point Beach
A Toms River man is charged with one count of second degree aggravated assault in connection with allegedly beating a Point Borough man unconscious, Point Beach police said. Brian Arnett, 28, was arrested at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday after allegedly beating a 34-year-old Point Borough man outside the 7-11, next to Marlin's, on Route 35 in the southern part of Point Beach, said Detective Pat Petruzziello. The victim was in critical condition at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune on Monday, police said. Police are not releasing his name, so Patch was not able to get an update on his condition on Wednesday. Police said a man attempting to stop a relative’s car from being repossessed made a getaway with the vehicle and drove over the feet of a worker of the repo company. The incident was 1:30 a.m. Wednesday on France Court, said Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy. “Two employees of a repossession company were repossessing a 2004 Honda when they noticed items in the vehicle. A shoplifting incident escalated to an assault between three women and two others in the store, police said. Police responded to the Joyce Leslie women’s clothing store, Indian Head Plaza, just before 9 p.m. Thursday, said Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy. Toms River man faces charges of aggravated assault, burglary
An assault with a metal newspaper rack at a deli has lead to an indictment against a Toms River man. An Ocean County grand jury indicted a Garfield Avenue man on charges of assaulting a Seaside Heights resident while burglarizing his home this summer. John A. Ogrodowski is charged with breaking into a Sumner Avenue residence on July 15 and assaulting the resident while being in possession of weapons. Ogrodowski faces aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon (metal newspaper rack), burglary and unlawful possession of a weapon (knife) charges. Police: no injuries reported, no weapons used in robbery of employee

The McDonald’s on Route 37 East near Batchelor Street was the scene of a robbery Wednesday evening, police said, where an employee inside the fast-food restaurant was robbed sometime after 9 p.m. Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said the suspect walked into the McDonald’s and robbed someone there. The individual was not armed, and Mastronardy said there were no injuries as a result of the incident. He said it was believed the suspect and victim knew each other.
