Toms River's Township Council approved on Tuesday a $1.3 million bid for Earle Asphalt Company of Farmingdale to replenish dunes in Ortley Beach after Hurricane Sandy eroded beaches in late October. Earle's bid surpassed those provided by Eagle Paving Corp. and C.J. Hesse Inc., which submitted bids of $1.42 million and $1.47 million, respectively, according to a resolution unanimously approved by the council.
