Jewelry was taken from the home Friday afternoon, according to police
A Friday morning burglary at a West Earl Court residence is under investigation by Toms River police. An unidentified amount of jewelry was taken from the home during the 11 a.m. incident last week, according to Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy. Police are looking for a white male in his 20s with a thin build wearing blue jeans and a blue flannel shirt, the chief said. A witness said the man entered the home's backyard and exited carrying a brown paper bag. Access to the home apparently was gained through a rear sliding door, according to Mastronardy. An early morning burglary at a Hooper Avenue Subway sandwich shop is under investigation by authorities. Toms River police responded to the 1358 Hooper Ave. location after being advised at 4:30 a.m. Thursday that the front glass door was smashed out, said Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy. After shattering the front door to gain entry, the unknown suspects removed a cash register containing $200, according to Mastronardy. Toms River police are investigating a weekend burglary at a local church during which property valued at more than $6,000 was reportedly taken. An Apple MacBook computer, and two musical instruments — a 1988 Les Paul guitar and Yamaha bass — were reported stolen from the First Baptist Church on Main Street, according to Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy. Bayville resident Willima Needham charged with burglarizing multiple homes
The apprehension of a Bayville man charged with burglarizing multiple area homes is being called "prime example of teamwork" between residents and police departments. Based off of information from a March 1 burglary, subsequent investigation and cooperation from neighboring officers, Toms River police charged William Needham, 26, of Bayville, with breaking into multiple homes, according to Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy. 20-year-old charged in Route 37 church burglary last week
With the help of Boris, a police dog assigned to K-9 Officer Stephen Eubanks, Toms River police last week were able to track down the man suspected of burglarizing a Route 37 church. Police responded to a burglary call at the Church of Nazarene on Wednesday, Feb. 20, when a witness said that a man fled on foot from the building toward the WaWa on Route 37 and Oak Ridge Parkway, said Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy. Township man charged with five burglaries in the Gardens of Pleasant Plains
A township man is being held on $225,000 bail after police allege that he burglarized five homes in the Gardens of Pleasant Plains over a two-month span. After an investigation by police, Adam Decroce, 38, was charged with the offenses in addition to one attempted burglary, said Toms River Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy. Police zeroed in on Decroce after a Monday incident where a 63-year-old Fox Glove Run woman reported that a white male about 30 years old "was in her bedroom and removed her purse before exiting the home," Mastronardy said. Police find one woman with recyclable items, copper from home on Balsam Drive
Police have charged a Toms River woman with burglary and theft after they found her inside a Balsam Drive home taking items from the flood-damaged residence, Detective Sgt. James J. Smith. Patrolmen William Somers and Don Rowley, along with Detective Will Cullen, responded to the home at 1:30 p.m. today, after receiving a call from a neighbor that people were in the uninhabitable house removing items, Smith said. Toms River senior communities see incidents with forcible entry into homes
The Gardens of Pleasant Plains senior community was hit by two burglaries overnight into Thursday, police said. In the two incidents, neighboring homes were forcibly entered around 1 a.m. The first home was vacant, but the second home was burglarized while a 71 year-old woman was asleep inside, said Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy. "A 71 year-old woman awoke to a noise at 1 a.m. and discovered that a unknown suspect forcibly entered the rear of the home on Fox Glove Run," Mastronardy said in an email. 17-year-old males both arrested at Toms River Exxon station Thursday night
Toms River police arrested two juvenile males from Bayville recently for breaking into a fenced-off area at a gas station in Toms River, Chief Michael G. Mastronardy said. “Toms River Police were alerted by a citizen that he observed two males enter a fenced in area of the Exxon gas station at Route 37 and Route 166 at 10 p.m. Thursday evening,” said the chief. A Manchester man led police on a chase from a third-floor hotel room window onto a roof before fleeing over fences and hiding in a residential shed off Route 37 yesterday. Police apprehended the man, who was wanted for a Toms River burglary, police said. Toms River Police arrived at the Comfort Inn on Route 37 in Toms River on suspicion that a burglary suspect was staying in a room there. Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said an Oct. 2 burglary of a California Avenue home had a man forcibly remove a section of fence and enter through a kitchen window to steal $1,000 in jewelry.
