Court Hearing On Tent City Friday

Advocates say there is no shelter for homeless adults and that the governments have not done enough to provide safe housing for them, according to The Star-Ledger

Superior Court Judge Joseph Foster will hold a hearing Friday, the latest in the yearslong effort by Lakewood and Ocean County to shut down the Tent City camp where many homelesss have been staying, according to The Star-Ledger. Advocates for the residents say that there is no shelter anywhere in the region for homeless adults and that the governments have not done enough to provide safe housing for them, according to The Star-Ledger.. Would love for you to share where you worked with the homeless. It is not that simple to obtain assistance for many of the people who are currently residing in tent city. If they have a felony or drug distribution charge they are not eligible for any benefits through the Board of Social Services. What do you suggest now??   more ›

Hit-And-Run Suspect Arrested

Lakewood police arrested the suspect driver who hit and critically injured a Chaveirim member and then fled the scene, according to the Chaveirim of Lakewood.

The Lakewood Police Department arrested the suspected driver who hit and critically injured a Chaveirim member, Moshe Guttmann, and then fled the scene, according to a statement released by the Chaveirim of Lakewood. A family member of the victim who did not give up searching for the vehicle spotted the possible match to the Chevy Astro van parked in the rear of an East 5th Street home, according to the statement. The family member questioned someone outside the residence regarding the damage to the vehicle, and was told it was involved in an accident last week. Police Looking For Hit-Run Driver Who Severely Injured Chaveirim Member

Chaveirim has announced the reward of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the driver

Police were handing out fliers to motorists on Somerset Avenue in Lakewood this past week as police continue the search for the hit-and-run driver which left a Chaveirim member severely injured on that road. On Friday, flanked by the police chief, Lakewood Officials, the traffic and safety Officer and PBA president and members, Chaveirim announced the reward of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the driver who left one of their own severely injured Saturday night, according to The Lakewood Scoop. Dog Bite Leaves Child Seriously Injured

A child was seriously injured Saturday evening after being bitten by a dog, as first reported on News Alerts, according to The Lakewood Scoop. Police and EMS were summoned to the home about 7:15 p.m. after receiving reports about a severe dog bite to a one year old child. Are you really that naive that you are going to point out that one time a Labrador killed a child. In 2011 there were 31 fatal dog attacks and pit bulls were responsible for 22 of them.
