27 year-old faces two separate indictments
Bryan W. Keller, 27, of Toms River, in two separate indictments, faces charges allegedly for incidents in September and January. The first indictment charges Keller with three counts of forgery; he is accused of presenting three checks drawn on the account of James Ventimiglia -- for $250, $200 and $400 -- to two banks in Toms River on Sept. 17 and Sept. 19. He was released on a summons on those charges at the time of his arrest. Toms River authorities on the hunt for perpetrators of commercial, personal thefts
Toms River Township Police officers are currently looking into a pair of weekend thefts, one of a pair of commercial utility buckets on Friday and the other of a woman’s purse from the Ocean County Mall earlier today. “Officer Witold Paduch is investigating the theft of 2 Bobcat utility buckets from Lee Santos Custom Waterfalls on Route 9. The black buckets, each weighing over 200 lbs., were removed sometime overnight Friday,” said Chief Michael Mastronardy. Resident arrives home, sees strange car and finds front door forced in
A woman in the 1800 block of Church Road arrived home to find an unknown vehicle in her driveway, and after beeping the car horn several times, approached to her house to find the front door forced in and a burglary in progress “Officers Jason Stallworth and Frank Moschella are investigating a burglary to a residence on Church Road that occurred just before 2 p.m. on Friday,” said Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy. A Brick man who has been held for months in the Ocean County Jail has been indicted on a slew of charges alleging numerous burglaries and thefts in Brick last year. Two others indicted last week are charged with allegedly selling jewelry and other materials from Rose's alleged victims in Toms River and Lakewood. Michael E. Rose, 25, of Dartmoor Road was indicted alongside two Bayville residents by an Ocean County grand jury last week and accused of 12 counts of burglary, seven counts of theft, one count of attempted burglary and one count of criminal mischief. Police looking for two white males
Toms River Police said two suspects attempted to rob more than 20 vehicles' homes, taking cash and gift cars from unlocked cars. Unlocked vehicles were entered on Bartlett Place, Alden, Wedgewood ,Round tree, Breezy Oaks, Cornell, Cedar Grove streets. Police first received a call at 1:30 a.m. Friday that a Cornell Drive resident chased a male suspect with a flashlight looking in a neighbors car. Then at 230 a.m. a resident on Trade winds observed two white males checking out cars parked in driveways. The witness scared the males off who are described as about 17 years, 5’11” both dressed in dark clothes with one wearing a white backpack. Police investigating Route 9 hit and run, theft at Quick Discount Lube and Carwash
Toms River Police arrested Jeron Smith, 18, of Gladney Avenue, Toms River, charging him with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute. The police Special Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at his residence after a month-long investigation. Police siezed 43 grams of cocaine, one-half pound of marijuana and a handgun, Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said in a prepared news release. Smith, who was lodged in the Ocean County Jail on $175,000 bail with no 10 percent, also has an outstanding warrant from Horry County, South Carolina for drug-related charges. Man allegedly stole $1,000 ring, left home after confrontation, was later arrested and went into cardiac arrest in police headquarters
A Manchester man, arrested on outstanding warrants after an alleged theft from a Silverton home, went into cardiac arrest at Toms River Police Headquarters and was revived by officers there, police said. Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said the man, a 21 year old from Manchester, is being investigated for allegedly stealing a $1,000 ring from a Kettle Creek home. The man and the home's occupants all knew each other, Mastronardy said. "They were acquaintances," he said. "We believe he took the ring from the home, and then the victim and his friends confronted him." Incident on Hooper Avenue Wednesday afternoon
A man who believed nearby women stole his jacket from a restaurant followed them down Hooper Avenue, where he saw the women throw the jacket in a vacant gas station, police said. The pair were soon after arrested on a theft charge and on outstanding warrants. Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said the incident occurred with a small child in the two women's care. Hundreds of parking meters from the Toms River Parking Authority were stolen from storage at the Toms River bus terminal. The meters are valued at $75,000, said Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy. The police chief said the theft took place sometime over the last three months, when the suspect, or suspects, took 500 used parking meters out of storage trailers located at the bus station on Highland Parkway. The meters were kept in long-time storage there and were reported missing this week. The meters are the cast iron kind that line parking spots downtown, and they weigh about 50 pounds each, said Mastronardy. That's a total haul of 25,000 pounds of parking meters, or 12.5 tons stolen.
