Valerie Frost-Lewis, MS Ed., Neighbor

I live in Toms River with my husband, Scott (“Mr. Scott the Music Man”, a children’s musician and educator), our sons and our dog.   I am the owner/director of The Peppermint Tree Child Development Center, a state licensed Preschool, Kindergarten and Summer Camp, serving over 90 children. I became passionate about Early Childhood Education while bringing up my own children who are now teenagers.

I enjoy creating a nurturing community at The Peppermint Tree that includes the whole family. One of my favorite family activities is running the weekly “My Parent and Me” Music and Movement Classes.

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and a Master’s Degree in Education with a Specialization in Early Childhood Education from Capella University. As a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), I serve on the board of the Ocean County chapter of this organization and provide continuing education to early childhood teachers both at NJ State and National NAEYC conferences.
