3 Charged With Drug Distribution in Toms River

Toms River home, room at Howard Johnson searched; more arrests expected

Authorities charged three Ocean County residents with dealing drugs after a search of a Toms River home, a room at the Howard Johnson hotel on Route 37 and a vehicle.

Ayuanna Corbin, 22, of King Drive, Toms River; Tyquan Jones, 19, of Hope Chapel Road, Jackson; and Shalonda Farry, 21, of Annapolis Drive, South Toms River, are all facing drug charges.

Detectives with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Toms River Police Department on Tuesday executed search warrants at a Providence Court home, a room at the Howard Johnson hotel on Route 37 and a 2000 Ford Focus, according to Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor's office.

The searches yielded approximately 25 grams of raw un-packaged heroin, approximately 6 grams of cocaine, and approximately $1000 in cash, Della Fave said.

Police also seized assorted drug paraphernalia associated with the distribution of drugs, specifically a digital scale and packaging materials, he said.

The seized Heroin has an approximate street value of $5,000.

Farry's 2008 Nissan Altima was also seized by police because it was used to facilitate drug distribution, said Della Fave.

Corbin was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin over one half ounce with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Superior Court Judge Rochelle Gizinski set bail on Corbin at $75,000 cash.  She was lodged in Ocean County Jail.

Jones was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Ocean County Jail on $15,000 cash bail.

Farry was charged with two counts each of possession of heroin, possession of heroin under one half ounce with intent to distribute, and distribution of heroin. Superior Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels set Farry's bail at $20,000 cash. She was also being lodged in the Ocean County Jail.

Della Fave said the investigation is continuing and more arrests were expected.

The Toms River Police's K-9 and Emergency Services units assisted in the searches.
