Toms River police are looking for a woman who is suspected of stealing a purse from a woman who was shopping in a store at the Toms River Shopping Center.
The white female is described as being about 25 years old with brown hair in a ponytail, 5’5” and missing multiple teeth. She was last seen wearing a black scoop neck shirt with pink sleeves and blue jeans.
Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said the woman engaged the victim in conversation before taking the purse, which was recovered by Foodtown employees in a trash can by their store shortly after the theft. In all, $250 had been removed, Mastronardy said.
