Toms River Woman Killed in Massachusetts Crash

Police have not identified the 66 year old killed Sunday in a Massachusetts Turnpike crash

A Toms River woman was killed in a head-on crash in Massachusetts this weekend, according to news reports.

The unidentified 66-year-old was traveling along the Massachusetts Turnpike when a driver going the wrong way struck her vehicle at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday and caused a three-car crash, according to the Associated Press.

The 33-year-old driver of the wrong-way vehicle was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries and charged with motor vehicle homicide, according to the Boston Globe.

Authorities said they are still investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash. The occupants of the third vehicle were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Globe.
